[UPDATED 7/30 1:09 PM: Unfortunately, the HD version seems to have been pulled down already (make up your damn minds, guys!) so bummer for anyone who hasn't seen it already.]

[UPDATED 7/29 10: 50 PM: The leaked footage apparently gained so much attention that Blur Studios has confirmed the footage is real and now an  HD version is out there for us to enjoy.]

[UPDATED 7/28 3:34 PM: As many predicted, the footage was pulled from Vimeo and bunch of other places hours after the leak.]

So, remember when they tried to make Ryan Reynold’s into Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine? The potential was there, but as soon as they sewed his mouth shut or whatever, the opening for a Deadpool movie seemed shut, too. But apparently there was still enough interest in the industry for some test footage to be produced.

And now that footage has leaked.

While the CGI looks more suited for a Deadpool video game, Kotaku notes that Tim Miller, who was once slated to direct a Deadpool movie, is also co-founder of Blur Studios—the studio behind some of the coolest video game trailers in recent years. So if they were trying to put together some MO-CAP action featuring Reynolds as Wade Wilson, who better to rely on? Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld even commented on Twitter that the MO-CAP was entirely Reynolds, and seems stoked that the footage has gotten such a good response.

There has been a lot of talk over the years regarding a Deadpool movie, with a lot of people doubting the likelihood it will ever get made, considering it would practically HAVE to be Rated R (no X-Men movie has been Rated R yet, of course) and that audiences would never even see the lead actors face. It would be a big risk for the studio, but considering how ridiculously fun this test footage is, it might not be so risky after all.

The HD footage makes the footage even more bad ass and awesome and HOW DID THIS NOT GET MADE!?
